Our essential oils 100% organic

Essential oils are the odorant and fragrant part of aromatic plants that protect them from pests and water stress. They are extracted from the leaf, flower or bark.

Besides being pleasant and used in cosmetics and natural perfumery, they have numerous medicinal properties in aromatherapy and since ancient times they have been an alternative to antibiotics.

In the Herdade de Vale Côvo they are extracted by water vapor in a still in stainless steel from the farm plants themselves grown in organic farming.

Air fresheners

Essential oils possess antiseptic, antiviral, and antibacterial properties and they are used to purify the air and to neutralise bad smells.

Inhalations

Steam inhalations of pure and water-diluted essential oils are beneficial in the treatment of respiratory conditions. They also help soothe nervousness and headaches.

Aromatic massage

When massaging the body, the therapeutic properties of the essential oils are added to the beneficial effects of the massage.

Perfumes and colognes

In order to make a perfume, dilute between 15-25% of essential oil in ethyl alcohol and leave it to stand for 15 days in a dark place. For cologne, dilute between 12-15% of essential oil in ethyl alcohol 70%.

Aromatic Baths

Some drops of essential oils in a bubble bath help reduce everyday stress. They have proved beneficial effects in injuries and muscular pain, skin reactions, blood-pressure problems and insomnia.

Gargles

Add 3 or 4 drops of essential oil into a glass of boiled water and gargle. It will help sore throat, toothache and mouth wounds.

Aromatic compresses

Compresses saturated with a blend of essential oils, vegetable oil and warm water calm old injuries, alleviate muscle and menstrual pain and are effective against earache and skin conditions. Aromatic compresses with cold water are beneficial in cases of sprained joints, swelling, bruises, headaches, fever, and burns.

Body oils, body lotions and body creams

Dilute between 1-5% of essential oils in vegetable oil, lotion, or cream (approx. 20-100 drops per 100 ml).
