What is the cultivation method?

We do not use chemicals (fertilizers or insecticides) but we use agricultural techniques adapted to the organic production method. We favor the conditions so that the plant can evolve normally in its natural habitat, thus facilitating its multiplication and recreating a spontaneous aromatic flora (permaculture).

In the particular case of lavandin, our essential oil comes from the south of France. It is not a spontaneous or cultivated plant in Portugal. It requires a calcareous, light and well-drained soil and does not tolerate the severe drought of summer in Alentejo.

The flowering tops of lavandin are steam distilled in traditional stills.
