Description
Organic Helichrysum Essential Oil
This plant grows naturally nearly throughout Portugal. It has traditionally been drunk as herbal tea to treat stomach conditions (heartburn, ulcer, belching), appetite loss and nausea. The essential oil started to be used more recently and it is applied only externally. However, its demand for the elaboration of natural cosmetic products has increased due to its anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, anti-inflammatory, wound-healing, and skin regenerative properties. Thus, it is commonly used to treat skin mycosis and to help healing in cases psoriasis and skin rash.
Therefore how to use?
- Facial Skin: Diluted in vegetable oil (1-3%, approx. 20-60 drops per 100 ml), it can be used for facial massage. it regenerates and hydrates the skin. So apart from restoring the elasticity of the skin and preventing skin ageing (anti-wrinkle), it also softens marks, scars, acne, and rosacea. Massage: Applied in a body massage, it relieves the symptoms of psoriasis, eczema and skin rash. It reduces nervous and muscle spasms. Its use enhances bruise healing, improves poor circulation (varicose veins, leg swelling), and favours lymphatic drainage (detoxifying and weight loss).
- Pure: Pure essential oil is sometimes administered in the treatment of bacterial, viral, and fungal infections of the skin.
- Perfumery: Some perfumes include this essential oil in its composition.
